What is Swipaw?
Swipaw is a pet superapp made for Filipino fur parents 🐾 In one app you can:
- Swipe for playdates and find your pet's perfect match nearby
- Book verified stud services, pet hotels, grooming, vets, sitters, pet taxis and trainers
- Adopt from shelters and donate to verified foundations
- Join events, post in the community and send lost & found alerts to your neighbourhood
Payments are protected by escrow, providers are KYC-verified, and chat only opens when both sides agree. Kumbaga, one app for everything your alaga needs!
How does swiping and matching work?
Open Swipe and you'll see a stack of pets near you, filtered by your distance, species, breed, age and intent (playdate, stud or friendship).
- Swipe right = Like 💛 · left = Pass · up = Super Paw ⭐
- When both owners like each other's pets — It's a Pawmatch! 🎉 — a match chat opens right away.
- Free accounts get 100 swipes a day. Made a mistake? Undo the last swipe with an Undo perk.
Tip: complete photos and personality tags get noticeably more matches!
How do stud requests and counter-offers work?
- Open a stud listing — the listed price is always shown.
- Tap Request and choose the date/time, location and message. You may offer a lower amount (down to the floor the owner allows).
- The stud owner can Accept, Reject or Counter. Every offer and counter-offer stays visible in the request so nobody gets confused.
- Once accepted, the booking waits for your payment. After you pay (held safely in escrow), the chat opens so you can plan the meet.
Requests expire after 72 hours without a reply. If a request is rejected you can try again after 24 hours.
How does escrow payment work?
Escrow means your money is held safely by Swipaw until the service is done 🔒
- Provider accepts → you pay through Xendit (GCash, Maya, card or bank).
- The payment sits in escrow — the provider can see it's paid, but can't withdraw it yet.
- After the service, the provider marks it complete and you confirm. If you don't respond within 48 hours and there's no dispute, it auto-confirms.
- Only then is the provider paid (minus the 10% commission).
Something wrong? Open a dispute before it's released and the payout is frozen while our team reviews.
What is the cancellation and refund policy?
Each service has a clear window (shown on the listing and before you pay):
- Most services: free cancellation up to 24 h before the start, 50% back between 24 h and 6 h, 0% after that.
- Pet hotel: free cancellation up to 48 h before the start, 50% back between 48 h and 24 h, 0% after that.
- Stud services: free cancellation up to 48 h before the start, 50% back between 48 h and 12 h, 0% after that.
- Vet visits: free cancellation up to 12 h before the start, 50% back between 12 h and 3 h, 0% after that.
- Pet taxi: free cancellation up to 6 h before the start, 50% back between 6 h and 2 h, 0% after that.
If the provider cancels, you always get a full refund. Refunds go back to your original payment method — see "When will I get my refund?" for timing.
How do I get verified (KYC)?
Go to Profile → Get verified and follow the steps:
- Upload a government ID (front and back)
- Take a quick selfie so we can match it to your ID
- Confirm your address
- For stud owners: add vaccination cards for each stud pet
- Review and submit ✅
A real person on our team reviews every submission. Verification is needed before you post paid services, accept bookings or receive payouts — and it earns you a trusted badge!
Any safety tips for meetups and playdates?
Stay safe, have fun 🐶🐱
- Meet in public, pet-friendly places in daylight; bring a friend if you can.
- Bring vaccination cards and check the other pet's records.
- Keep pets leashed or carried until both are calm.
- Look for verified badges and read reviews before you go.
- Keep payments and chat on Swipaw — never send money outside the app.
- Trust your gut: if something feels off, leave, then report it in the app.
How does adoption work?
Ready to give a pet a forever home? 🏡
- Browse Adoption and open a pet's story.
- Tap Apply and answer a few questions about your home and routine.
- The shelter or owner reviews your application — some do a home check or a meet-and-greet.
- Once approved, pay the adoption fee in the app if there is one (many are free).
- Pick up your new family member and share the happy news!
You can message the shelter from your application at any time.
